It's a joke. Dont take it so seriously.
A good location would be London. It's the centre of the universe and would force some culture into you hicks.

Originally by: Bhaal Canada would be good, because most of Europe does not hate them like they hate us...
Plus, I go to Canada every weekend to visit my GF, so I'm cool with that!
I vote for Toronto, hold the fanfest at the observation deck of the CN tower!
Theres a Caldari Navy tower in Toronto

Its in north america its not terribly expensive to travel to and you can get a venue much cheaper if you choose the right location. For example there are fantastic venues at any of the casino's (montreal, niagara falls for example_.. im sure they will give CCP a HUEG discount because of the number of people they will bring into the casino. Its easy enough for everyone to get into the country...
Please at least consider this kind of thing.. Yes it will cost more than having it in Iceland but you will get MUCH more support and a ton of new people.
To be honest a European venue will get more visitors than Canada as most of the player base is in Europe.
I think Iceland is a good venue. I always blow the trumpet for my home country. I am sure CCP are justifiably proud of their country and whoever goes will have a blast.

Originally by: Winterblink Nah, don't bother holding it in eastern Canada. Come out west, where the air is cleaner, the beer is fresher, the women are hotter, and the malls are bigger.
That and we can all have a barbeque at Blink's place. :)
Drop the bit about the malls and it will be perfect

Originally by: Winterblink Yes, but it's a more interesting destination than say Cleveland.
Thats only because you've been to Cleveland and never to Iceland. Im sure lots of people would enjoy an indians game and a trip to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame :)
But anyways, its not a knock against iceland or anything... It would just be better to have fanfest somewhere where you could get more Fans (new and old) to attend. Not much new exposure to be found in iceland...
Its a fanfest, not a marketing road trip. It's for established players, most of which are in Europe.
I can tell you from experience that one English speaking country is pretty much like another. Go to a truly "foreign" country and you get different cuisine, tradition and culture. Iceland will blow your mind in ways that Cleveland just cant compare to.
